Having played the suave hero in Billa and Aegan, it looks like Ajith, to avoid monotony, wants to do the “mass hero” type of role in his next film. Maybe that is the reason he chose Saran, who had directed him in Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam, all commercial super hits.

Saran recently revealed that he originally planned Amarkalam to be named Asal, but later changed his mind. He also added that he was looking forward to using the title Asal for his next film with Ajith!

Nirav Shah happens to the ducky cinematographer for Ajith ever since they worked together in ‘Billa’. Filming it so stylish sleek in format, Billa was almost acclaimed to be the Hollywood style with such exotic shots. Well, this seems to have urged Ajith to pick him for his film. Earlier, he was supposed to work for ‘Aegan’ as well Rajnikanth starrer ‘Endhiran’. Perhaps, his commitment with his buddy Vishnuvardhan for ‘Sarvam’ slipped out the best offers. Never mind it! It’s not biggies, but your uniqueness style that leaps you with laurels…

Ajith was received by Silambarasan and the screening of the movie began in the afternoon. Directed by debutant Saravanan, the movie features Simbu in dual roles. Sneha and Sana Khan play the heroines. Interestingly, the music by Yuvanshankar Raja was a big hit even before the movie hit the screens.

Towards the climax, Simbu appears as ‘Billa’, the role enacted by Ajith in the new version and there are special references made to Ajith. As a result the actor was invited by Simbu to watch it.

Sources close to the director said, Sameera Reddy, who sizzled the screen in ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’ plays the heroine. Saran and Ajith are considered a lucky combo as they have rendered hits like ‘Kadhal Mannan’, ‘Attagasam’ and ‘Amarkalam’ before.

Saran is currently busy with the post-production works of his next release ‘Modhi Vilayadu’ which stars Vinay and Kajal Agarwal. Once the movie is released, shooting for ‘Asal’ would commence.

Buzz is that she has been urged to play Ajith’s heroine in a film to be produced by Sivaji Films. Saran is most likely to be the project’s director.

Sources close to the director said, Sameera Reddy would play the heroine in all probability. She impressed everyone with her excellent performance in ‘Varanam Aayiram’. Titled ‘Asal’, the Ajith starrer is expected to go to the floors very soon’.

Saran and Ajith are considered a safe bet in the industry and the two had delivered hits in ‘Kadhal Mannan’, ‘Attagasam’ and ‘Amarkalam’ earlier. With Aegan not doing up to the expectations, Ajith is keen and determined to make ‘Asal’ count.

Well, it’s noteworthy that duo combo Ajith-Saran had spelled hat-trick with Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam. Earlier Sivaji Productions had signed agreement with Sameera Reddy as Gowtham had suggested and now she is being sustained for female lead.

Producers, Ajith and Saran on the verge of finalizing technicians within short period and buzzes are that it would be either A.R. Rahman or Harris Jayaraj scoring music.

Ajith was not content with the script narrated by few other directors and the consideration was on Vishnuvardhan, the maker of ‘Billa’. The director who is busy with Sarvam couldn’t take up the project before its completion. Later, it was Dharani, KS Ravikumar and Prabhudeva but the efforts were futile due to tight schedules of the filmmakers.

Now, Ajith and the production house seem to be contemplating on Saran to direct his movie. The director who gave the hits ‘Kadhal Mannan’, ‘Amarkalam’ and ‘Attakasam’ might re-conjure the magic for the actor. After an average run with ‘Aegan’, Ajith is ardent to bring out a hit and director Saran could be the right choice.

Actor Surya – A 30 yr old guy depicting himself from various age groups between 18-70yrs is something out of box. He has stridden with lots of potentials winning grand round of applause from all corners with ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’.

Actor Pasupathy – He’s off a versatile style just getting under the skin of every character he plays. Be it negative, a lead or a character role, Pasupathy does it with an ease and he is something rare of a style. His spellbinding performance in ‘Kuselan’ and a wonderful stroke with minimal prominence in ‘Raman Thediya Seedhai’… So, if every actor has got under spotlights with one film, he does it with his couple of flicks.

Now it is confirmed that Dharani will not be directing Ajith for Sivaji Productions. Industry buzz is that he had “creative differences” with the ultimate star. Ajith fans also suspected his loyalty which they feel was with “Chiyaan and Ilayathalapathy”.

Added to that Dharani told Sivaji Productions that he comes as a package along with his favourites- Vidyasagar and cameraman Gopinath. This was not acceptable for Sivaji Productions as they had already paid advances to Harris Jayaraj and a well known cameraman, who were part of the original Gautham Menon team.

The latest on the front is that Ajith is going all out to woo Vishnuvardhan, his current favourite after he gave him his biggest hit Billa. Vishnu however does not like to be rushed as he is yet to complete Sarvam, which will now release only for summer of 2009. He does not like to start a new film without the release of his earlier film.

But Sivaji Productions and Ajith can’t wait, as they want the film to start in December and release it for summer. Sources close to Vishnu says that he is yet to work out the script and is also particular like Dharani that he “comes as a package- Yuvan Shankar Raja, Nirav Shah and stunt master Thyagarajan!”
